"I don't want to touch nature and I don't want nature to touch me." Gene Simmons (FYI-I may have paraphrased a smidge from the Family Jewels Episode, it was late :) )
I'm with you Gene!

The DH is all for roughing it, his family did a lot of tent camping in national parks, I grew up in a place coincidentally they vacationed. I was a girl scout and a camp counselor. I've had my fill (I also have a phobia of birds, chipmunks and squirrels- but that's another post).

But, since this is something my boy is rather fond of. The whole wildlife experience. I'm going to try to wrangle a few of my friends for a one or two nighter this summer (hey I do like smores). It will have to warm up a bit first. Any volunteers for tent camping in the Adirondacks? I'll bring the marshmallows.

I love MUSIC! If you flip around my ipod you'll find a very random mix (Sevendust, Megadeth, Black Label Society, Janis Joplin, Eric Clapton, Johnny Lang, Gwen Stefani, Ray Charles, Bill Miller, etc).
I work for a company that sells music (movies and so forth) so it only feeds my addiction. (And before that I was a radio DJ) The newest additions to my collection:
Jason Castro/Jason Castro
I'm adding the new Sevendust album (Cold Day Memory)in soon too.
So far only Slash has made it out of the plastic and boy is it good! Who knows what rocking creations will come out of these tunes.
What is rocking your music player of choice?

The Kurtzes are Back in Town

Alas all good things must come to an end.
Our vacation was nothing short of amazing. The food, the scenery, the weather, the people- we just enjoyed our selves to the max!
If you can get to New Orleans - GO!
Among some of my favorite things in the Crescent City: endless walks in the French Quarter (we didn't get a car and LOVED that decision), beignets (LOTS of them and LOTS of powdered sugar), Oak Alley Plantation (where they taped part of Interview with a Vampire), and just relaxing with the hubby.

Here I am with my cafe au lait and beignets on one of the 3 wondrous times we indulged :)

So you say its your birthday

Well it almost is :) I turn the big 27 on the 13th while I'm in New Orleans next week. What has the fella gotten for me for the big day??? It's a very etsy birthday and I got to unwrap everything early! (even better)
From Kinies

and From Slipped Stitch

All of these will be coming with me on our trip of course- all in the attempt to stay organized! Does anyone have any traveling organization tips? (I try to carry everything I've ever owned with me)

Techie Plunge

The Kurtz's did it. We still love our hardcover and softcover books a like but the hubby and I have bought our kindles. Of course DH never to lose a second with a new toy has downloaded his Lord of the Ring books and is reading like a mad man. I am currently in the middle of a Vampire Diaries Book by L.J Smith (completely different then the TV Show- but this is what the TV show is based on) but I'm almost done.
When I get whisked away next Sunday to NOLA I'm going sans my normal 4/5 book stash that accompanies me to an airport. So, what should my first download be?

PS- Always one to accessories I got a custom made cover from Get Sassed - fun to work with, I can't wait to use it on my trip :)
