BEANS! The More the Merrier!

Here is a vegan friendly yummy mix of things you probably have hanging out in your pantry!
1 Can of Red Beans
1 Can of Cannellini Beans
1 Can of Black Beans
2 sprigs of Rosemary
1/4 Cup of minute Rice
1 Can of diced tomatoes
1 Cup of Frozen Shoepeg Corn (or regular corn)
Italian Seasoning
Garlic Powder
Nonstick Spray

Warm a pan on a stove top (leave on medium) spray with non stick spray. Drain almost all of the liquid out of the beans and tomatoes. Mix all the ingredients together. I add quite a bit of Italian season and a good old dash of garlic powder. Go easier if you want less spices.
Let cook with the top on the pan for 20 minutes or until the rice cooks. Remove the Rosemary sprigs and serve.
Enjoy!

Let the Countdown Begin!

74 DAYS UNTIL WE LEAVE FOR NEW ORLEANS!
My excitement may be starting a bit early but I can't help it! I'm psyched!
The hubs and I are taking suggestions for things to do, places to see, and crafting things to buy there (ok so that part is for me).

Odds and Ends

Puttering away here in my neck of the woods. I'm very lucky to be working on a bride's jewelery. And I've just finished this great blanket in dusty green and mustard. 1 BIG granny square in Vanna's Choice Yarn. I haven't decided if it will be a present for an upcoming wedding or if it will go on my site for sale yet (I thought I had 5 weddings this year- and only 2 are in 2010, phew!).

Do you see the issue?

My Dad has this joke that my sister and I only love him for shocks and brakes, (He's a mechanic) similiar to the speach John Candy gives in Uncle Buck (No Chanice, there were tires too).
So, I stitched up something for his desk. This was take 2 after the first version got glue that seeped through it, the stencil powder smudged, and then I accidentally bleached the floss while try to clean up the stencil powder. Oh sometimes the smallest of crafts end up being the hardest!

Do you see where I went wrong? The worst part, I didn't even realize it. Not for a second. Stitched it twice, framed it, and wrapped it. My Dad loves it but did point out that his child that was supposed to be good at English was the one who missed this.... AHHH!
I'll be stitching him a new one :)

Spookey Scary

I love Ghost Hunters. Jay and Grant with the rest of the Taps crew are just plain fun to watch. Santa was kind enough to bring me Seeking Spirits for Christmas, and I am enjoying it as much as I enjoy my Wednesdays with these fellas. Now to get my hands on their first book! What is on your night table?

PS- here is a sweeter ghost (one of my ghost hunter soaps- this one you can make appear and disappear)

The Past 10 Years

16 year old me
It's crazy how many things can change in 10 years.
When I rang in the millenium I was 16, the world was thinking Y2K, and my biggest worry was if I'd be a lead in the school musical (I did get to be the Stepmother in Cinderella).
10 years down the road I'm married (5 years), I'm a homeowner, and I have all the worries grown ups do. Could I have invisioned this 10 years ago? Hard to say, but I couldn't be happier.
There are so many things I'm thankful for in this New Year a happy health family, amazing friends, a good job, a budding handmade craft business, and the beautiful home my hubby and 3 cute cats share.

This year- Christmas Brian and I

Happy New Year Everyone! Hope it is filled with everything you hope for!

Start the New Year

With a bit of shopping in Troy. :)
Stop by and say hello tomorrow if you are in town! Steph and I will be there 9-1
